Senator Dick Durbin returns to Washington today and one of the biggest blips on his radar screen will be a federal highway bill.

Speaking at a Springfield road project, Durbin told the media that current highway funding resembles tv's end of season cliffhangers.

Durbin says many of the stalled road projects in Illinois can't be blamed on state government's budget stalemate.

Durbin has worked with the likes of Republican Mitch McConnell to help the push toward more concrete highway funding. He hopes for movement from the US House within the next two weeks.
