90-Thousand Estimated For This Year's Apple n' Pork Festival

The numbers are in and the festivities are all but wrapped up and indications are it was another wildly successful Apple n' Pork Festival in Clinton.

The community of 75-hundred hosted roughly 90-thousand this weekend for the 47th annual Apple n' Pork Festival. Clinton Police Chief Ben Lowers indicates once again, the Sunday of the festival slowed compared to Saturday, but it was still a busy day in the community.

For as many people as enter the community, very few, if any, leave having caused a great disturbance. The Chief attributes this to the traditional nature of Apple n' Pork. According to Chief Lowers, the biggest issues they face are generally minor health concerns.

Joey Woolridge is the Director of the CH Moore Homestead, the beneficiary of the Apple n' Pork Festival. She leads the tours of the Manion throughout the weekend and says trends of attendance there match what is happening throughout the community.

For Woolridge, one of her favorite parts of the festival is the reunion aspect to Apple n' Pork. She explains people plan their get togethers at the Apple n' Pork Festival and old friends inadvertently bump in to each other there as well.

Woolridge says planning for the 2016 edition of Apple n' Pork will start tomorrow (Monday) and then they will begin to focus on what to change in the coming weeks as they meet with their Board.
