Off a tough 27-25 win over Middle Tennessee State, the Illinois Fighting Illini host Nebraska for their Big Ten opener.

Nebraska comes in with a 2-2 record after a heartbreaking last second loss to Brigham Young University and a loss to Miami (FL).

Game time from Memorial Stadium Saturday is 2:30 pm on the Big Ten Network.

The Northern Iowa Panthers and Illinois State Redbirds clashed twice last season. Once in the regular season at Northern Iowa and again the postseason when the Redbirds got the best of the Panthers on their way to an FCS tournament title run.

The two squads renew their rivalry Saturday when the Panthers come to Bloomington/Normal for Family Weekend on campus.

The Redbirds are coming off a bye week after a tough road win in Charleston over Eastern Illinois.

The Redbirds enter play 2-1 with a loss to Iowa and an easy win at home over Morgan State, 67-14.

The Panthers also enter play 2-1 with a loss to Big 12 opponent Iowa State. Otherwise the Panthers haven't had the easiest time either.

The Panthers won 38-35 against Eastern Washington at the UNI-Dome followed by a trip to San Luis Obispo, California and picked up a win over Cal Poly, 34-20.

The Panthers were also off last week.

Game time is noon Saturday.
