Clinton Haunted House Opens in One Week

It's haunted house season in Illinois, and Clinton is home to one of the top haunted houses in the area.

The Clinton Chamber's Terror on Washington Street Haunted House opens one week from tonight and organizers are rearing for another big season. Chae Mills with the Clinton Chamber says Chamber staff and many volunteers have been hard at work to get this year's house ready.

Part of the appeal of the Terror on Washington Street Haunted House is the always changing inside. Mills explains they have made their entrance a new room instead of being their introductory area like in years past.

During the haunted house season, the Chamber opens up the house in a less frightful manner. Mills explains they do what they call friendly ghost tours, mostly for the younger kids. Those happen in the middle of October.

The Chamber has partnered with the Haunted House in Decatur to provide a deal to those who will be going to both houses. Mills says a duel entry fee of $18 is charged for entrance to both houses.
