The 37th District State Senate Selection Committee has picked Peoria City Councilman Chuck Weaver to replace Darin LaHood. Weaver was one of 10 applicants for the appointment.

The vacancy for the State Senate seat was created when LaHood submitted his resignation after being elected to Congress on September 10th.

The Selection Committee was comprised of Republican county chairmen from the 10 counties in the 37th District including, including Mercer County’s Brian Anseeuw.
