The Kansas Royals battled back and then outlasted the New York Mets in Game 1 of baseball's World Series. Then dominated the Mets with two big innings to route the Mets 7-1.

The Royals exceptional play at Kauffman Stadium should be of no surprise, as they went 51-30 at home in the regular season. On the road though, the Royals finished 44-37 while the Mets finished the regular season 49-32 at Citi Field.

Which is where the series shifts starting Friday night. New York will turn to flame throwing rookie Noah Syndergaard.
