Monticello Sages Defeat Trenton-Wesclin

The wind, rain, and a poorly played first half couldn't slow down Brandon Wildman and his offense Saturday afternoon

as the Monticello Sages stormed past Trenton-Wesclin Saturday afternoon, 42-21.

Trailing 21-7 going into the half, Monticello understandably felt things could have easily been 7-0 if not for huge

touchdown runs of 57 and 44 yards by Warriors tailback Brandon Robinson coupled with a special teams turnover by

Monticello, which led to the 21-7 deficit late in the first half.

The Sages scored 35 unanswered points in the second half, battling torrential rains and winds all afternoon, and most

of the damage was done through the air, ironically enough.

Wildman finished an exceptional performance 20-36 for 216 yards and 4 TD.

All four touchdown passes went to Noah Freemon. Freemon hauled in 10 catches for 123 yards.

Tyus Welter had five catches and 55 yards.

Jacob Burton finished with 16 carries and 64 yards, including two TDs.

Monticello will take on the winner of tonight's (Saturday) game between Sullivan Okaw Valley and Newton.

We'll have details of next week's game as they are released on dewittdailynews.com and Regional Radio.
