Illinois’ Governor has a gift for Chicago’s Mayor--a dead fish. During a stop at Chicago’s Paulina Meat Market Governor Bruce Rauner said he picked up some dinner for himself--double cut pork chops and beef tenderloin. He also bought something for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Afterward, Rauner talked about the large amount of paperwork business owners need to go through in order to get a liquor licence in the city of Chicago and said it’s an example of what needs to change in Chicago and the State of Illinois. Rauner said he still remains good friends with Emanuel and the gesture was in good fun. Emanuel reportedly sent a dead fish to a pollster back in 1988 when he was working on a congressional campaign.
