>>Blackhawks' Kane Unlikely To Face Criminal Charges

Chicago Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane is unlikely to face criminal charges stemming from allegations he raped a woman in his home in Hamburg, N.Y. in early August according to the Buffalo News. Nothing is set in stone yet as Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita has remained mostly quiet on the investigation, which is now nearly three months old, however the News cites three sources close to the investigation who don't see it moving forward with charges.

One knowledgeable source told The Buffalo News when asked about the possibility of criminal charges quote - “This case is going nowhere”.

“I was told … the case will be administratively dismissed” without being presented to a grand jury, a second knowledgeable source added.

Sedita did tell the News that he is still waiting for the investigation to be completed and noted that the prosecutor assigned to the case is currently on vacation.

Kane said Sunday quote - "Those are just reports. There aren't really any facts."

Kane has continued playing for the Blackhawks. He has appeared in all 11 games and is currently tied for fourth in the NHL with 14 points.

While nothing is confirmed, this investigation appears to be nearing its conclusion.

width=>>Rangers Coach Takes Shot At Mets' OF Cespedes

It all started when Vigneault was asked about whether or not he had ever thought about pulling a goalie only to be talked out of it by the player, a reference to New York Mets manager Terry Collins leaving Matt Harvey in for the ninth inning of Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night.

The Mets ended up losing a 2-0 lead -- and the Series -- after Harvey failed to retire the first two batters of the inning, setting the stage for yet another Royals comeback and ruining what had been to that point a nearly flawless pitching performance by Harvey.

Vigneault said he never experienced anything like that, but as he walked away from the podium he rolled his eyes and shook his head while adding, "how about the one when you take the ball off the knee and you take yourself out of the game in the World Series?"

That was obviously a reference to New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes who had to leave Sunday's game after fouling a ball of his knee in the bottom of the sixth inning. After remaining on the field for several minutes in obvious pain, Cespedes finished his bat and popped out. He was unable to make it all the way to first base and could barely walk off the field. There is no way he would have been able to play his position in the outfield in that condition.

Along with the knee issue as a result of the foul ball, Cespedes also had shoulder and hand injuries throughout the playoffs. The shoulder injury forced him to sit out a game in the National League Championship Series against the Chicago Cubs.

The Rangers did not include the comment in their video Vigneault's press conference but Rick Carpiniello of Rangers Report, via Lohud.com, did include it in his write-up of the press conference.
