Panthers Escape Struggling Colts, Stay Perfect

width=Graham Gano kicked a 52-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Carolina Panthers to a 29-26 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night to remain the NFC's only unbeaten team.

After Andrew Luck rallied the Colts from 17 points down in the final 7 1/2 minutes of regulation, both teams exchanged field goals in overtime.

Roman Harper then deflected Luck's pass over the middle to Coby Fleener and Luke Kuechly - who had dropped an earlier interception that would have sealed the game at the end of regulation - came up with the pick at the Colts 39.

Four plays later Gano hit the winner to extend the Panthers regular season winning streak to 11 games.

Cam Newton was 16 of 35 for 248 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also ran for 41 yards.

>>49ers Trade TE Davis To Denver

The unbeaten Broncos, fresh off their thumping of Green Bay, are preparing for their run into January. And on Monday, the Broncos bolstered an offense that has lacked firepower by trading for 49ers tight end Vernon Davis.

The news was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter and was confirmed by CBS NFL Insider Jason La Canfora. Broncos general manager John Elway announced the trade on Twitter, though he did not include the terms of the deal.

The 49ers are also sending their 2016 seventh-round pick to Denver. In exchange for Davis and the draft pick, the Broncos are giving the 49ers two sixth-round picks.

Davis has played for the 49ers since 2006, racking up 441 receptions, 5,640 receiving yards, and 55 touchdowns. During the 49ers' days of relevancy under coach Jim Harbaugh, Davis was a key cog in the team's offense. But this year, Davis, along with the rest of the 49ers' offense, has struggled. Under the guidance of new coach Jim Tomsula, the 49ers are 2-6 and are scoring a league-worst 13.6 points per contest. Davis, meanwhile, has struggled to find any sort of rhythm or consistency with quarterback Colin Kaepernick, catching just 18 passes for 194 yards and zero touchdowns this season.

Davis will most likely take on the role as the No. 1 tight end in Denver, as the team's current starting tight end, Owen Daniels, has only 17 receptions and 129 yards.
