The Monticello Sages had to play comeback kids last Saturday afterrnoon to move on to a Saturday second round Class 3A playoff football game.

Down 21-7, Monticello scored 28 unanswered points in the second half and beat Trenton-Wesclin, setting up a Saturday showdown with undefeated Newton.

Newton ran the table through their season and won the Little Illini. Newton blasted Sullivan-Okaw Valley 46-21 Saturday night.
