Clinton Schools Going All Out To Honor Veterans

width=It's a day of the year many districts give their students and staff off, however, Clinton has made the decision in recent years to not.

Students and staff of the Clinton School District may be in school tomorrow for Veterans Day, but the day will certainly be all about those who have served. For Beth Wickenhauser and her students at Lincoln and Douglass Schools, Veterans Day is about learning why we show respect to those who have served.

For Mary Diener and the students of Clinton Elementary school, for many years have invited veterans to join them at the start of the school day for a special salute to veterans and then serve them breakfast.

The morning is concluded by a video presentation put together by pictures assembled by students. Diener explains that presentation is shown during the breakfast.

Once veterans of the community have concluded at the elementary school, the junior high has their own ceremony and the high school does a special presentation as well.

We'll hear about Veterans Day at Clinton Junior High School and High School tomorrow on dewittdailynews.com.
