UPDATED: Clinton Maroons Fall to Gibson City

 width=As heard on 92.3 FM WHOW and dewittdailynews.com, the Clinton Maroons fell to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley by a score of 70-64 on Tuesday night.

The Maroons were led by senior Jacob Overton with 19 points. Junior Peyton McCubbin also chipped in with 16 points and was the Country Financial Representative Stephan York Maroons Player of the Game .

For GCMS, they were led by Tucker Cribbett with 23 points.

With the loss the Maroons fall to 0-2 on the season.

The Monticello Sages outscored Riverton 25-16 in the second quarter and pulled away in the second half of their season opener from Miller Gym Tuesday night for a 66-45 win.

Senior Zach Fisher fell a rebound shy of a double-double, tallying 22 points and nine boards.

His younger brother Calvin, added 19 off the bench for the Sages (1-0). Luke Stokowski also chipped in with 13 points off the bench.

The Sages are at Bismark-Henning Friday night.
