It's the first round of the FCS football playoffs this weekend and Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois are looking to continue their respective season's.

For Eastern, the Panthers started out very slow, losers against Western Illinois, Northwestern, and Illinois State in their first three games, the Panthers rebounded to win seven of their final 8 games.

Now the Panthers take on Northern Iowa out of the Missouri Valley Conference who won their final five games.

Saturday's game is at 4 pm from Cedar Falls.

Western Illinois scuffled down the stretch falling to three straight ranked opponents before pulling out an improbable upset over South Dakota State, that likely was the win that punched their ticket to the playoffs.

The Leathernecks meet Dayton Saturday at 11 am.

The winner meets Illinois State, who is on bye as the second overall seed.
