Hundreds of billions of dollars is slated to come to transportation funding around the county.
The US House passed a $305 billion bill, the FAST Act, to fund transportation projects around the nation. Illinois will get $7.5 billion over the next 5 years. The state also will pick up $3 billion for transit funding. Congressman Rodney Davis a Republican from the 13th District says the bill was passed without earmarks leaving an element of local control.

80 percent of state’s highway funding comes from the federal government. The bill is headed to the President’s desk for approval.
