New Animal Shelter Completion Out of County's Hands

 width=Everything DeWitt County leaders can take care of at a new location for the animal shelter have been done, now it is up to entities that aren't associated with the County to take care of their end of things.

That's the message from the leader of the committee charged with overseeing the progress at the animal shelter. Cris Rogers (right) chairs the Public Safety committee of the DeWitt County Board and says as of right now, the biggest hold up in the completion for a renovated location for DeWitt County Animal Control is Ameren.

The DeWitt County pet society, Second Chance for Pets, has furnished a room where they will conduct showings for adoptions.

Rogers says things have been rather frustrating of late in trying to get the finishing touches to the building, but he remains confident this project will get wrapped up and the animal control leaders will get a much needed new facility.

>>Dan Ballenger was appointed to the Mahomet Valley Water Authority.

>>Animal Control fee increases were approved.

>>The Board approved $40-thousand for the DeWitt County Development Council.

>>A recently purchased Red Cross van was put under DeWitt County's Fleet insurance policy. We'll have details on this coming next week.
