The Dewitt County Farm Bureau Board of Directors are announcing the upcoming retirement of Ken Bjelland as Manager, after 35 years of service on January 31, 2016.
Since May of 1981, Bjelland has been instrumental in coordinating many Farm Bureau programs like AG in the Classroom, 4-H and FFA outreach, as well as bus trips for members around the country.
Thursday January 28, the Farm Bureau is hosting an open house to honor Ken for his accomplishments.
The Dewitt County Farm Bureau Board of Directors has announced the hiring of Janell Baum Thomas as their new manager, with a start date of January 18th.
Thomas is a graduate of the University of Illinois and a past state FFA officer.
The board feels very fortunate to have such a qualified local candidate to lead them in the next chapter of Dewitt County Farm Bureau and on into their 100th year which will be 2018.
