December 1 marked the one year anniversary of a new DeWitt County Board and the leader of said board is looking back fondly.
County Board Chair David Newberg (right) credits a lot of people for their hard work in turning the County around, and says Vice-Chair of the Board, Camille Redman worked very hard for a balanced budget this past year.

A big reason for a balanced budget is an agreement with the Clinton Landfill. Newberg says the agreement took a lot work to get figured out.

Redman feels the re-introduction of the committee system and Newberg says the committees allowed the County work through some major issues they faced this year.

Redman says the State's financial impasse has also had its impacts on the budget in DeWitt County but Redman feels they are going to be just fine despite that.
