Clinton Police Chief Discusses Safety For New Year Celebrations

 width=The New Year's holiday can be one of the deadliest holidays on the roads and local law enforcement is outlining several ways to remain safe this weekend.

Clinton Police Chief Ben Lowers indicates everyone wants to have a good time and a memorable New Year's celebration and the Chief encourages practicing responsible drinking and making plans in advance.

If you're going to be on the roads this holiday week, the Chief says do not drink and drive and don't allow others with you to drink and drive. He points out, the New Year's holiday is one of the deadliest.

Those who will be celebrating in Clinton, to encourage safe driving this weekend, Chief Lowers points out the city plans waive their overnight parking restrictions for New Year's Eve.

Again, Chief Lowers stresses that lifting of the downtown square parking restriction is for New Year's Eve only.
