Corn Belt Energy Expecting To Have Power Restored by Thursday Night

width=Officials with Corn Belt Energy Cooperative tell Regional Radio News that as of early Thursday afternoon, almost all members in their central region now have power restored and less than 100 members remain without power in their northern region.

Steve Hancock, who is Vice President of Electric Distribution, expected to have all members back on by early Thursday evening, adding he appreciated the patience of the members who have been without power this week.

Hancock added one of the line sections that was without power, had 12 broken poles and only feeds 2 members.

Corn Belt Energy crews who have been working in the central region have been sent to assist in their northern region, along with four cooperatives-- Adams Electric Cooperative, Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative, Jo-Carroll Energy, and Menard Electric Cooperative--as well as crews from 2 city-owned utilities, the City of Geneseo and the City of Princeton.

Corn Belt encourages members to contact them at 1-800-879-0339 to report power outages, partial power, and downed lines or poles. As a reminder, people should not go near any downed power lines, downed poles, or trees near lines.
