Barry Sanders Jr. To Transfer

width=Barry Sanders Jr. will graduate from Stanford in June and has been granted release of his scholarship, which makes him eligible to transfer to any school outside the Pac-12 and play immediately under graduate transfer rules.

According to The Oklahoman, Sanders is considering a move to Oklahoma State, where his father was the 1988 Heisman Trophy winner and put together one of the greatest careers by a collegiate running back.

“[Oklahoma State is] definitely an option," Sanders said to The Oklahoman.

Sanders Jr. was a four-star running back coming out of high school but never became a featured back at Stanford. In his three-year career, Sanders has had only 117 carries for 701 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Most notably, he served as the backup this season to Heisman Trophy semifinalist Christian McCaffrey, who returns to the Cardinal next year.
