UPDATED: DeWitt County Artifact Provides More Proof of CH Moore's Ties To Abraham Lincoln

Longtime residents of DeWitt County and those that have since moved on don't need to be told of the areas connections to Abraham Lincoln.

After all, one of the most influential people to ever reside in the community held on to piece after piece after piece of proof, that is regularly on display at the CH Moore Homestead and DeWitt County Museum.

But just in case you wanted more, Director of the Museum, Joey Woolridge has more proof for you. She says she came across a letter late last year that further ties CH Moore to Abraham Lincoln, but also those close to him during his time in Washington DC.

Woolridge indicates she pieced together that the letter was legitimate through other findings she had from the Homestead.

Tourism Director Larry Buss says the fact the letter was not only legible but was not faded or worn makes a piece they will be able to display this upcoming year. He says it's amazing the things they continue to find at the museum.

Woolridge says she hopes to have the letter ready for display for their seasonal opening in April.
