After a record mild month of December, the last week has reminded us that winter is still with us.
We have seen a couple night of below zero temperatures, but Eric Schmidt of EJS weather says the cold will be short lived. There may be a little snow in southern Illinois around Thursday but through the end of January the forecast calls for average temperatures and fairly calm weather patterns.

As we move into February, the jet stream looks to return North and some of that mild December weather could return.
