DeWitt County Museum Using Winter Season To Prep For Upcoming Year

width=There may not be a lot happening at the DeWitt County Museum, but that doesn't mean there is not anything going on.

Foot traffic this time of year is generally slow for the DeWitt County landmark and according to its director, Joey Woolridge, during their traditional open season, they might be a moment away from having to give a tour to a group. She notes that makes it hard to get things done.

Woolridge indicates they are working to redo the wood floors of the mansion. She says they have a unique vantage point not everyone gets to see.

Other than the hardwood floors being redone, Woolridge notes they are still recovering from the candlelight tours from December. She notes a lot of that is done by their board members and other work is done by a group at the high school who volunteers.

The DeWitt County Museum will reopen in April and Woolrdidge indicates she hopes to have some things to display that have yet to be seen by their guests.
