Community Action Focused on Serving Underserved in DeWitt County

 width=With a new location in DeWitt County, one non-profit is looking to end the cycle of poverty through a number of programs.

Alison Rumler-Gomez leads the Central Illinois Community Action Partnership and says a renewed focus within the organization hopes to give under served residents the tools to better themselves.

Rumler-Gomez explains they have two programs designed to provide free assistance to anyone who would need additional services for things like advice during job interviews or managing money.

The Jobs for Life program through Community Action has a number of opportunities attached to it. Rumler-Gomez says once you go through the program, you become eligible for scholarship opportunities through Community Action for further job training that could lead to gainful employment, which is the goal of the Jobs for Life program.
