Term Limits, Business Reforms, Taxes Among Gov. Rauner's Topics From Wednesday's State of the State

 width=Term limits, business reforms and taxes were among the many topics Governor Bruce Rauner addressed in his second State of the State address Wednesday afternoon.

Governor Rauner is calling on the legislator to reform the business climate. He says workers compensation is hurting Illinois' businesses.

As for term limits, the Governor points out President Obama supports redistricting reforms. He feels Illinois voters deserve the right to vote on the matter.

The Governor says raising taxes won't fix Illinois. Gov. Rauner says when taxes were raised in 2011, things did not go well at all.

The Governor continues to tout his commitment to education. He says a quality education in Illinois is the key to more high paying jobs and quality jobs in Illinois.

The Governor does not dispute 2015 was not an easy year. He is calling on the General Assembly to make "historic progress". He says a lot of good things happened last year and wants to see that continue.

The Governor also addressed the ongoing negotiations with AFSCME, calling their demands "out of touch with reality". He also touched on streamlining local governments, pension reform and criminal justice reforms.
