The House Democrats have a super majority of members but they that doesn’t mean that they all have to vote the same way. It’s unusual for house members on Mike Madigan’s side of the isle buck the trend but that is what Rep. Ken Dunkin is doing.

He skipped a vote on union collective bargaining last summer and after the Governor’s State of the State says that one person in Springfield, Michael Madigan is standing in the way of the state budget. Dunkin actually brought a sleeping bag and backpack to a press conference so he can stay at the capitol until a budget can be crafted and passed.

Dunkin says he wants rank and file democrats to come together and pass a budget and not hold citizens of Illinois hostage to Mike Madigan political shenanigans.
