Little Movement in Local Unemployment Figures

January to February unemployment figures in central Illinois held steady with the rest of the state.

 

DeWitt County saw minimal gains in unemployment from January to February, as unemployment held steady at 7.5-percent in February from 7.6-percent in January.

 

Piatt County unemployment for February was 6.4-percent down from 6.8-percent in January.

 

In Logan County, unemployment came in at 6.9-percent, down from 7.1-percent in January.

 

McLean County unemployment was at 6.2-percent in February, from 6.5-percent in January.

 

Unemployment dropped from 8.7-percent in January to 8.2-percent in February for Macon County.

 

Unemployment in Champaign County was at 6.1-percent for February.

 

That state unemployment rate barely budged, going from 7.1-percent in January to 7-percent in February.

 

The national unemployment average is 5.2-percent.
