The Illinois High School Baseball State Finals are this weekend. Right now pitchers in those games are allowed to throw as many pitches as their coaches find appropriate. But that could be changing.
The IHSA is evaluating implementing a pitch count rule. A number being considered is 105 pitches per game. Mercer County head baseball coach Nick Basala says he could support that.
Basala says he would also like to see a certain number of days rest required after a pitcher throws 105 pitches.
