Unemployment rates for Champaign, DeWitt, Logan, McLean, Macon, and Piatt counties went down in March from February of this year.
Champaign County dropped from 4.9 to 4.4 percent. DeWitt from 5.8 to 4.9 percent. Logan from 5.5 to 4.7. McLean from 4.7 to 4.3. Macon 6.3 to 5.7. And Piatt 5.2 to 4.6.
All of these counties' unemployment rates have gone down over 1 percent since March 2016 and the state of Illinois has reduced unemployment overall by 1.7 since last March.
