Students at Western Illinois University monitoring Asian carp in Illinois. They caught a big one last week just south of the Quad Cities—at Sturgeon Bay near New Boston.
A 76-pounder says Dr. Jim Lamer—the site manager for Western Illinois University’s Alice L. Kibbe Life Science Research Station.
The research station—based in Warsaw, Illinois-- promotes teaching and research in field biology and ecology. They are monitoring Asian carp at various sites throughout Illinois this summer.
