Speaker of the House Mike Madigan remains the leader of the Democratic Party in Illinois.
The in Springfield marks the sixth time Madigan has been elected state party chair. He says going into this election cycle that his party is together and ready to win in November.
Madigan told a radio show on Monday that he’s a very young 76 and has no plans on retiring from political life.
