State To Offer Low Interest Loans To Federal Workers

The state is going to try and help federal workers who are working without a paycheck right now.

In a joint announcement with the Governors’ office, the Illinois Treasurer Mike Frerichs says the state is making $100 million available to banks to use as loans to approximately 9000 workers who need financial assistance.

The loans are projected to be as close to zero percent as possible. Governor Pritzker says Illinois is also looking to see if they can offer unemployment assistance to federal workers.
