If you are going to try to beat the upcoming warm weather and get out and ice fish, Department of Natural Resources have some tips for you.

If you're looking for good ice fishing, Clinton Lake in DeWitt County likely has some prime spots after the dramatic freezing temperatures of the mid-week. John Williamson, DNR Conservation Police Sergeant indicates you'll want to be extra cautious if you do choose to ice fish.

Williamson notes, fish this time of the year congregate near brush and feeding fish. He reminds fisherman the limits for ice fishing are the same as they are through the spring and summer fishing season.

Williamson indicates after the extreme cold of the last 36-48 hours, west of the DeWitt Bridge might not be in as good of shape as other parts of the lake because of the winds from Tuesday and Tuesday night. Otherwise, you are likely to find good spots throughout Clinton Lake.
