St. Thomas More Edges Monticello

Four players scored in double-figures for Champaign St. Thomas More as they held off the Monticello Sages Tuesday night in Okaw Valley basketball action, 79-75.

Monticello's Zach Fisher led all scorers with 25 points, but it wasn't enough as the Sages led just once in the opening minutes and could not overcome the pressure defense of the Sabres, turning the ball over 16 times.

Noah Freemon added 13 points and five assists for Monticello. Isiah Florey had nine points and eight rebounds in a rare appearance in the starting lineup.

Luke Stokowski had seven points and six rebounds for the Sages. Brandon Wildman contributed seven points and five boards.

Francis Albion led St. Thomas More with 21 points off the bench and added seven rebounds. Paris Parham had 14 points. Calvin Davis and Mike Miller each added 13 points. Davis hauled in eight boards. Miller grabbed six.

David Horn added nine points, five assists and four rebounds.

The Sages fall to 15-7 overall and 5-4 in Okaw Valley play.

St. Thomas More improved to 17-8 and 7-2 in conference action.

Monticello is at St. Joseph-Ogden Friday night for their final regular season game.
