Perry's 3-pointer lifts LeRoy over Leo, 38-35 in State 1A

Noah Perry made a game-winning 3-pointer with 30 seconds left and LeRoy won its first state title with a 38-35 victory over Leo on Saturday in the IHSA Class 1A state championship.

Matt Chastain scored 21 points to lead the LeRoy (28-5). Noah Perry had struggled from the field, hitting just two shots in 11 attempts prior to the last bucket, but finished with nine points. Teddy Harms grabbed eight boards and Nick Perry chipped in eight points for the Panthers.

Darias Oliver scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Leo (24-9), which never led in the game.

Darius Branch and Mykel Hampton added eight points apiece for the Lions (24-9), who played much of the game with their third-leading scorer, Corrielle Robinson, hobbled with an ankle injury.
