Big Fifth Inning Propels Blue Ridge Past Monticello

The Blue Ridge Knights used a five run fifth inning Tuesday afternoon to beat rival Monticello 7-3 in non-conference boys baseball action.

 

Isaac Trotter was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Dylan Lytel hit a go-ahead grand slam in the fifth inning finishing with four RBIs for the Knights who improve to 6-3 on the season.

 

Monticello's Tyler Jones went four innings, allowing a run with eight strikeouts.

Logan Hislope tallied a pair of RBIs for the Sages.

 

Alec Lyle picked up the win in relief for Blue Ridge and Ben Williamson recorded the save.

 

Monticello drops to 4-1 on the season.
