Tyler Jones was brilliant in a near complete game and Logan Hislope drove in a pair of runs in leading the Monticello Sages past Rantoul, 5-1 Tuesday in Okaw Valley boys baseball action.

Jones went 6.1 innings allowing a run on two hits but issued five walks and struck out five. Nick Hopper got the final two outs.

Hislope was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Jacob Burton reached base three times via walks and Luke Stokowski, Garrett Myers, and Jones each tallied RBIs. No Monticello hitter tallied more than four hits, though the Sages drew six walks as a team.

The Sages are now 7-4 overall and are 4-2 in the Okaw Valley Conference.
