Blue Ridge Pounds Lexington

A 12-run fourth inning outburst by the Blue Ridge Knights offense sent them flying by Lexington 15-2 Wednesday afternoon in Farmer City in Heart of Illinois boys baseball action.

 

Ben Williamson paced the Knights bats finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Isaac Trotter was also 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a run.

 

Cory Jayne hit a solo home run as a part of a 2-for-3 day and scored three times.

 

Damian Cordes finished with a pair of runs for the Knights, though he was the only starter to not record a hit.

 

Alec Lyle pitched all five innings, allowing two runs, one earned on three hits, issuing two walks and striking out four.

 

The Knights are now 9-6 overall and 3-1 in HOI play. Blue Ridge is in Bloomington this afternoon to take on Cornerstone Christian Academy.
