Lady Maroons Down St. T

The Clinton Lady Maroons picked up their 20th win of the season Monday with an 18-0 drubbing of St. Teresa.

In a game heard on WHOW, Clinton used a six run first inning to jump out to an insurmountable lead. Senior Alexis Estes was dominant once again for Clinton as she pitched four scoreless innings for a one hit shutout. She struck out 11 Bulldogs en route to improving her record to 17-2 on the season.

St. T's freshman pitcher, Kaitlin Vohrees, struggled to find the strike zone. She walked 16 batters, gave up 7 hits, and only struck out one in the loss.

Several Lady Maroons had a good day at the plate.  They were led by the Stephan York Country Financial Player of the Game senior Haley Steward.  She was 2 for 2 at the plate with a 3-run double and a 2-run triple.

Junior Jillian Miller was 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Junior Rodjanay Dupont-Barlow was also 1 for 1 with a 3-run triple and 3 walks.

The Lady Maroons improve to 20-3 on the season, and 7-0 in the Central Illinois Conference. St. T is now 1-24 on the season.
