Cody Sedlock was named the National Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America, becoming the first pitcher in Illinois history to earn a national pitcher of the week award.
Sedlock struck out 14 Ohio State batters Friday night in 10.2 innings, the longest outing in Division I this season, in one of the most dominant performances in Fighting Illini history.
Sedlock, who also took home Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors, helped the Illini win 1-0 in 15 innings.
