A monster senior class delivered a monster season for the 2015 edition of the Monticello Sages football program.
Entering 2016, the Sages will have a lot of questions to answer. The Sages will seek to fill voids filled at major positions like runningback, wide receiver and quaterback.
The Sages return key pieces to a defense that was extremely young in 2015 and look to build on what was a very solid unit last year that led them to a quarterfinal game in mid-November of the Class 3A playoffs.
Under Cully Welter, the Sages have made the postseason in all six seasons and will look to continue that run in the final year of the Okaw Valley Conference.
The Sages open what they hope to be another winning campaign tonight in Nokomis.
