Clinton Maroons Defeat Meridian

In a game heard Friday night on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Meridian Hawks by a score of 42-14. The Maroons were led by senior Alec Cooley with 23 carries for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Cooley was named as the Country Financial representative Maroons Player of the Game. Cooley was also 122 yards short of breaking the school career rushing record. Senior quarterback Noah Griffin had three caries for 23 yards. Senior Dalton Whitted had three carries for five yards and a touchdown, and a thirteen yard touchdown pass. Junior Jacob Hospelhorn had two interceptions and a thirteen yard touchdown reception. Junior Bryson Carson had a 57 yard interception and a return for a touchdown.

 

The Hawks were led by Cameron Getz who had four carries for 33 yards and a touchdown, three of four passing for 76 yards and a touchdown.

 

Clinton improves to 4-5 on the season and 3-4 in the Central Illinois Conference. Meridian falls to 0-9 on the season and 0-7 in the conference.
