Clinton High School Hosting First Ever New Year's Shootout

Clinton High School will be hosting their first shootout format basketball tournament this weekend.

Athletic Director Barry Gurvey says the credit for the idea goes to the boys varsity basketball coach Clay Haurberg, who came up with the idea about a year ago.

The Clinton New Year's Shootout will feature a JV and Varsity schedule for the day with the JV games to be played at Clinton Junior High School. Gurvey says the tournament will feature teams from all across the state.

Gurvey indicates this is an event the school hopes to continue to host year after year. He says next they will have new schools on the slate as well.

Gurvey indicates there is one admission price to every game of the tournament. He says five dollars will get you into any JV or Varsity game throughout the day.
