McIlroy Top Paid Golfer From 2016

According to Golf Digest's latest list, Rory McIlroy was the highest-paid golfer in both on-course and off-course money in 2016. He is No. 1 on the list entering 2017.
McIlroy earned $17.5 million on the course (thanks in part to his FedEx Cup win which was worth $10 million) and $32 million off the course for a total of nearly $50 million.

McIlroy's sponsors include Bose, Nike, EA Sports and Omega.

This ranked nearly $10 million ahead of Arnold Palmer and almost $15 million ahead of Tiger Woods, who made 99 percent of his cash off the course.

Phil Mickelson made $37.8-million last year and was the third highest paid golfer while Jordan Spieth made $30.4-million to finish in the top five.

PGA Tour Player of the Year, Dustin Johnson, made $19.8-million, good for seventh on the list, while world number-one Jason Day made $19.6-million to follow Johnson at number-eight.

That number for Jason Day should increase after a huge contract with Nike was inked at the end of the year.
