Lady Maroons Take CIC Consolation Championship

Madi Filkin and Alyssa Salsberry finished with 13 points apiece leading the Clinton Lady Maroons past Meridian 51-41 in the Consolation Championship at the Central Illinois Conference girls basketball tournament from Clinton High School. 
Salsberry scored eight of her 13 in the first half and Filkin went 7-for-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Lady Maroons, who held the Lady Hawks to one field goal in the first half. 
 
Tori Wilson finished with ten points for Clinton, who went 16-for-20 from the free throw line for the game. 
 
Chloe Herbert led Meridian with 16 points, scoring 13 in the second half. The Lady Hawks shot 20-for-27 from the free throw for the game.
 
Hannah Wetzel added eight for the Lady Hawks. 
 
In the first game of the night, Warrensburg-Latham topped Shelbyville 46-28. 
 
Tonight, Tuscola and Decatur St. Teresa will play for the conference tournament title at 7:30 pm.
