Monticello Rolls Decatur St. Teresa

Calvin Fisher and Luke Stokowski were a two-man wrecking crew for three quarters and th Monticello Sages held on late for a 54-41 non-conference boys basketball win Saturday night from Decatur St. Teresa High School.
 
Fisher scored 14 of his 18 points in the first half, Luke Stokowski scored 11 of his 17 in the first half to help Monticello open up a 31-16 advantage at the intermission, then Isiah Florey scored six of his ten points in the fourth quarter to help the Sages hold off a surging Bulldogs offense late.
 
Isiah Bond scored 12 points in the final period to lead St. T with 19 points, as the Bulldogs shot ust 34-percent from the floor.
 
For the second straight game, the Sages shot 55-percent, including Fisher who made his first four three-point attempts and finished 4-for-5 beyond the arc.
 
The Sages outrebounded the Bulldogs, 27-22 with 14 second chance points on 10 offensive rebounds. 
 
The Sages are 16-5 overall on the season.
 
They resume play this week hosting Champaign St. Thomas More Tuesday and finish the regular season Friday at home hosting St. Joe-Ogden.
