Rachael Lockmiller and Zanna Myers each scored 12 points apiece and the Monticello Lady Sages used a strong defensive effort to put away Fithian Oakwood 50-41 from the Champaign St. Thomas More Sectional Tuesday night in girls Class 2A sectional action. 

The Lady Sages jumped out to an early 14-2 lead and withstood a late rally from Fithian Oakwood to advance to the Sectional final Thursday night at 7 pm.

 

Rylee Dowers scored a game high 16 for Oakwood and Katelyn Young added 12.

 

Emma Reeder chipped in with nine for the Lady Sages who are now 18-4 overall for the season.

 

They'll take on Bloomington Central Catholic Thursday, who defeated Clifton Central 56-52.
