Mahomet-Seymour Blanks Clinton

Mahomet-Seymour shut out Clinton Tuesday afternoon 6-0 in non-conference boys baseball action from Mahomet.
Isaac Bushue thre five shut out innings for the Bulldogs en route to a season opening victory on the hill. He struck out seven walked two and allowed three hits. Tanner Kirts closed the door on the win with two shutout innings of relief.
 
Jake Wade pitched five innings for the Maroons allowing six runs, three of which were earned, striking out four and walking two. He allowed nine hits.
 
Mac Hickman threw and inning of scoreless relief for Clinton.
 
Wade led the Maroons offense with a 1-for-3 afternoon and Logan Petersen was also 1-for-3.
 
Bradley Hamiltom and Lukas Graham collected a pair of hits. Charlie Grant and Noah Steepleton were 1-for-2. Hamilton had a double and a run batted in. Steepleton added an RBI as well for Mahomet-Seymour.
 
The Maroons drops to 1-1 on the season and Mahomet-Seymour is 1-0.
