Tori Witruck threw seven shut out innings and the St. Joseph-Ogden Lady Spartans beat Monticello 7-0 on Thursday afternoon in Okaw Valley girls softball action from St. Joe.
Witruck struck out six, walking two and permitted only three hits. She also hit a solo home run in the second inning drove in a run in the fifth with a sacrafice fly. She was 1-for-2.
Allie Place finished 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Katelyn Burch added an RBI and Logan Frerichs went 1-for-2 with a double.
Leslie Taylor, Delanie Hildebrandt, and Carly Wichus tallied the only three hits of the afternoon for the Lady Sages.
Taylor went six innings in the circle for Monticello, allowing seven runs on five hits, issued eight walks and struck out three.
